60 Second Trick Torches Body Fat

Archives for September 2014

Do you know the ONE thing that has more impact on your weight loss success than even nutrition and fitness?

I'm talking about your self talk. You see, your thoughts about yourself have more to do with the look and shape of your body than ANYTHING else.

You can have the best nutrition and fitness plan in the world, but it won't do you any good if you can't “see” your dream body in your mind's eye.

Start with the two words I share with you in this video and watch your body transform. It will only take you 60 seconds a day!

If you find yourself saying this, you’re not alone. Many, many people hate exercise.

Yes, hate is a strong word but it’s the right word here. They hate to sweat, they hate the aches, and they just hate it all.

All too often, the people who hate exercise the most are the ones who need it most.

We live in an age where people have very short attention spans and constantly need to be entertained. We’re always on our smartphones looking at YouTube videos, playing games on Facebook or just doing something or another to amuse ourselves.

So, exercise drops right down on the to-do list.

When you embark on a weight loss program, exercise is crucial to shedding the pounds. Even those who do not want to lose weight, should be exercising on a daily basis.

So what do you do if you hate to exercise? What do you do if it gets boring?

Move-it-to-the-Beat1

This article is going to keep it real. For those trying to lose weight and get in shape, you will have to do some cardio sessions and even more resistance training.

Now, resistance training is more or less fixed. Either you will be using weights, kettle bells, bands, body weight or other contraptions that simulate resistance. I recommend body weight resistance because you always have everything you need for a complete workout with you at all times

If you do not like any of these methods, you should learn to at least appreciate the huge benefits. You will still have to do them if you want to build muscle.

Yes, even women should be doing some resistance training to tone your muscles and be lean. Do not worry. You will not become muscle bound. Men have a tough enough time building muscle as it is. With lower testosterone levels, it’s much harder for women to become all “muscly”.

So, resistance training is a must. Yes, your muscles will ache.  But you must admit, it is a GOOD ache! Yes, you will struggle and pant and groan as you face the resistance. But, this is what it takes.

And, you know how good you always feel right after a workout? Focus on THAT feeling to get you started.

Use techno music or heavy metal or whatever music you like to perk you up. Change your music whenever it stops motivating you to go all out. Record your progress and always try to beat your own records. Get a training partner who has a sense of humor and pushes you if you slack off. These are some of the things you could do to alleviate the boredom. If you want to workout every day with me, I will keep you motivated! You can join my online personal training site for full access to my target exercises and there's a new workout every week to keep it fresh!

As for cardio…

You have a whole range of choices from cycling, rowing, skipping, running, kickboxing, Zumba, etc. Cardio sessions can be fun if you just find out what you like doing. Ask your local gym what group classes they have for cardio. Join one that looks fun.

However, if you really want to lose weight as soon as possible, guess what? You don't have to go hardcore but you DO have to go. Interval sprinting or rowing at high speeds or spinning. These can be monotonous and will knock the breath out of you. There is no fun in high intensity cardio. You will be gasping for air and cursing. But…the good news is, you only need a few minutes of cardio per week.

The fat burning effects of all exercise will last for hours! One of the fastest ways to lose weight.

In life there is a trade-off. A healthy body comes at a price. That price could be exercising even when you dread it or skipping relaxation time to exercise.  It all depends on how bad you want it. If you truly want to shed the pounds and gain more energy, you will get your body in motion. Believe me when I say, YOU are so WORTH it!!

IS there ANYONE who doesn't honestly just love chocolate? This smoothie recipe is definitely the number one choice for smoothies at my house. Most of the ingredients I keep on hand at all times and they should be staples in your kitchen too.

Some have crinkled their noses at me when I drop in the kale leaves but all of those skeptics admitted they couldn't even taste the greens. The strong flavor of the greens masks unbelievably well in a good smoothie recipe.

So all the benefits of a high protein green drink and all the Rich flavor of CHOCOLATE. It seems like the best of both worlds because it is. This is a great way to sneak greens into any finicky eaters in your house too!

Many people have had difficulty losing weight, nothing is more frustrating than to get your motivation up, find the perfect diet and exercise program for you and then… nothing. Some people actually do have a metabolic issue that makes it virtually impossible to lose weight, but not many.

For most of us the harsh reality is that we're just not being as good as we think we are. The cool thing is that there are a few simple things you can do that will help keep you ‘honest' in your weight loss journey.

For one thing, it's amazingly easy to ‘lie' to ourselves about what we've eaten in any given day. There have been times when I would have sworn I was good, until a friend (I use that term loosely!) will remind me of that pastry I had at lunch or all the cream and sugar I put in my coffee.

Ooops. I didn't mean to lie to myself, it just happened. Most of us are like that to one degree or another.

To keep yourself on track one very simple but effective thing you can do is to keep a food journal.

Food-Journal (1)

For a week or two, write down every single thing that you eat or drink. You have to be honest and you have to include everything even that second glass of soda at lunch and the two pats of margarine you put on your toast… everything.

If you do that for few weeks, you'll quickly be able to spot the times of the day and the areas in your diet where you might have a bit of trouble. Once you pinpoint the reasons you have difficulty losing weight you can make changes that will help you achieve your goals much more quickly.

The same principle can apply to when you work out.

Again, it's easy to think that you're working harder than you really are. If you keep a workout journal it's harder to convince yourself that you've done something you really haven't done.

Not only can you track the number of times you go to the gym but you can also track how long you spent on the treadmill (or doing cardio in general), how many exercises you did for your upper body, how many you did for your lower body, etc.

You can also keep track of how much weight you lifted for each exercise. Ideally, you should be increasing your weights over a period of time.

It's important to keep your body challenged and not let it get into a rut.

healthylife

By changing up the weights you lift as well as the exercises you do, you'll keep your body ‘guessing' which will help you get better results in less time.

Most of the major muscle groups (chest, upper back, lower back, abs, butt, quadriceps, hamstrings) will have more than one exercise you can do. By mixing up the exercises you do for each group you are keeping your toning efforts in high gear.

Another benefit is that the different exercises will target each muscle group in a slightly different way which can also lessen a lot of the repetitive types of injuries to your body.

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but many times when someone has difficulty losing weight it's really more about the way they're doing things than about any metabolic issue with their body.

I try to make a hot breakfast a few times a week for my family, especially during the cooler months. It makes me feel good to know their tummies are filled with something warm and nutritious before they go about their busy days.

I always think I won't have time and then I remember this quick, easy power packed scramble. There's nothing to it. I'll chop an onion at night and then I'm always amazed at how fast this one is ready to serve.  The eggs and spinach offer a great protein and iron packed breakfast with the right fuels to power through your mornings without being hungry.

This delicious hot scramble  will really stick with you and give you the satisfaction of a good, hearty breakfast. Hope you can squeeze this into your morning routine soon!

If you frequently have a glass of wine with dinner, or a few beers after work, you may wonder about the effects of alcohol on your weight loss. Every food or beverage you consume has an effect on your weight loss speed. Alcohol is no exception.

Alcohol can lead to overeating and the calories in alcoholic beverages are generally consumed in addition to other food and drink.

Liquid calories add up quickly, so be aware of the calorie content of your drink.

Alcohol has 7 calories per gram. Fat has 9 calories per gram. Drinking an alcoholic beverage from time to time won't kill your diet, but frequent drinking will.

Alcoholic beverages can be just as bad for your diet as that greasy pizza maybe worse.

Liquid calories are typically easier to consume, and drinking your calories can cause them to add up more quickly than you'd think!

There are other effects of alcohol on your weight loss as well!

Alcohol loosens you up, and helps you relax. It also loosens your resolve to eat healthy. This means that you are less focused on your weight loss goals, and may inadvertently consume more calories than you originally intended.

One wing or chip can turn into many, as you become more relaxed about your diet. Consuming large amounts of alcohol can be synonymous with consuming larger amounts of food.

Alcoholic beverages are also generally consumed along with food. So, if you drink several drinks with a high calorie content, you are probably also eating at the same time. This can lead to taking in a high number of calories in a short amount of time, simply because you are not paying attention to your drinks.

You can help slow this process down by drinking a glass of water after each alcoholic beverage. You'll feel fuller, and in turn you'll eat and drink less.

If you're a coffee drinker AND a wine drinker you'll probably be happy to hear that coffee could help protect your liver from alcohol.

So yes. there are several effects of alcohol on your weight loss. Drinking alcoholic beverages can add calories to your day quickly. Alcohol has a high calorie content, similar to fatty foods.

Liquid calories in alcoholic beverages go down easily, but pack a dietary punch. Alcohol can also cause you to eat more than you originally intended. Dieters, drink with care, and be careful how many calories you consume through your drink of choice.

If you enjoy a glass of red wine with a meal it is Ok. In fact, here's an interesting study Red wine drinkers will want to read: Red wine and your GUT?  (interesting study results)
