For my next episode, I’m welcoming my first guest, Sammy Taggett, also known as DJ Sammy. DJ Sammy is a massively successful DJ and musician who has worked all over the world, but his success was not instant, nor was it easy.
You see, DJ Sammy came from about as humble of a beginning as anyone could — he was stuffed into a shoe box and thrown into a dumpster as a baby! But he survived the unthinkable and rose from his circumstances, proving that we create our own destiny, no matter where we came from or what we've done in the past.
DJ Sammy understands that your past does not define you and that you have to be willing to start somewhere. For him, that “somewhere” was in the men’s room at a club in Denver, Colorado. I’ll let him tell you more about how he spun that “opportunity” into a “big break”, as well as how he earned his nickname “Shoebox Moses”, what that title means to him, and how, even though he’s achieved massive success, he continues to deal with the same feelings of Imposter Syndrome, inner criticism, and self-doubt so many of us do.
