For example, having a loving and caring significant other may mean that you have someone holding you accountable for going to your routine doctor’s appointments or getting that sweat sesh in.

Having those who love you around as often as you can may prove to be a really motivating factor to take better care of you!

So, keep those friends close and support one another. It may not only be beneficial for your mental health but your physical health as well.

Love—A Secret Weapon For Greater Levels of Overall Happiness

Ok, so we know that love and close relationships may support our overall physical health, but there’s more. Feeling loved also holds some pretty great mental health benefits.

Feelings of loneliness have been linked to all sorts of health ailments, like inflammation and pain. It may also lead to anxiety. On the other hand, feeling loved may help ease symptoms like anxiety and prevent feeling of loneliness in the first place.

If you have a significant other in your life, then you may relate to this one. Love and feeling bonded to your partner may also combat stress. Why? We can thank oxytocin (aka the bonding hormone) that helps us feel that strong and connected bond with our partners. That same hormone may also help us feel less stressed out.

Oh, and one more thing—love may also help give us a confidence boost. Love has been shown to boost confidence levels, which also helps keep those pessimistic thoughts at bay.

Love Allows For More Positivity

Allowing more love into your life is also a great way to shut out negativity. If we can reap all of these physical and mental health benefits of having this powerful feeling of love, we owe it to ourselves to let love in.

Now, this doesn’t mean that there’s one specific way to feel loved. Even working on a closer social circle may be exactly what you need to feel more positive, and to give yourself an overall health a boost.

So, feel that love! We all are so deserving of it.
