Archives for June 2013

In today’s fast paced world, it may seem impossible for you to stick to nutritious foods as you’re juggling your job, children and their extra-curricular activities. However, eating nutritious doesn’t have to be time consuming or difficult.

Start using these fat burning foods in your daily meals to kick your weight loss into high gear and create a healthier lifestyle:

Avocados:

avocado-xThis is one vegetable that people often write right off of their grocery shopping list because the word “Fat” is associated with it. However, avocados are loaded with the healthy fats that your body will use to speed up the process of turning fat into energy. Omega 9 fatty acids will also boost your metabolic rate.  Olive oil, olives and macadamia nuts are also great sources of “healthy” fat.

Coconut:

Stick with high quality coconut to ensure that you’re receiving the highest amounts of MCFAs, and such sources include coconut oil, coconut milk (not the low fat variety), coconut flour, and shredded (unsweetened) coconuts as well.

Lemons:

Lemons2The easiest way to add a splash of nutrition and fat burning elements into your meal is with some lemons. Squeeze the juice and add in some pump into your salad, or glass of water. I always start my day with a cup of hot lemon water. Lemons are an excellent source of liver detoxifers, and your liver’s health is absolutely crucial to your body’s ability to digest and burn fat.

Grapefruit:

grapefruitStudies have shown that women who eat grapefruit daily lose almost 20 pounds over 13 weeks with absolutely no other changes done to their diet or lifestyle. So grab a spoon and start scooping grapefruit for breakfast or cut it up for an evening snack.

Tomatoes:

tomatoesCarnitine is the production of amino acids and has been proven to speed your body’s ability to burn fat. Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C and the phytochemical lycopene which promote the production of carnitine, which means adding more tomatoes to your diet creates more fat burning capabilities.

Adding these foods to your daily meals will get you on that fast track to losing weight.
